Another day, another vote! The longlist nominees for the 2018 National Television Awards have been revealed with seven Emmerdale cast members included as well as Emmerdale itself for best Serial Drama, which it won for the first time in 2017.
In the hotly contested Serial Drama Performance category, its a tough choice as the six Emmerdale representatives have all been outstanding over the past year. The toughest choice is how do you choose between Robron? Both Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) and Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle) are on the shortlist which will split the fans once again.
Gillian Kearney is nominated for her role as manic murderer Emma Barton, along with Natalie J Robb (Moira Dingle) and Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas), both involved in Emma’s twisting and turning storyline.
The final member of the Emmerdale team to be nominated is Jeff Hordley, who plays the original ‘bad boy’ Cain Dingle.
In the Newcomer category, Ned Porteous, who plays the mysterious Tom Waterhouse, is nominated despite only being on screen for a handful of episodes so far. However, this is not unusual as Emmerdale did the same thing with Emily Head (Rebecca White) last year.
And of course, Emmerdale is in the running for Serial Drama, having won the coveted award for the first time ever in 2017. Can they make it two years in a row?
