Emmerdale’s Victoria’s Rape Baby Decision!
Victoria Barton returns to Emmerdale next week following her rape ordeal ready to decide what to do about her pregnancy – but will her family support her decision?
Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) returns to Emmerdale next week following her rape ordeal during the fateful ‘big night out’ with only a handful of people knowing what happened and that she is pregnant with rapist Lee’s baby.
After visiting grandma Annie Sugden in Spain with brother Robert (Ryan Hawley), Victoria is back with another new haircut and a plan to move on from her horrific attack. But does that include keeping the baby?
As she starts to experience morning sickness, the reality of Victoria’s pregnancy hits an uneasy Robert and Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), but they are stunned when Victoria tells them she’s not having a termination.
Later, at the Café, Diane gives Victoria hope Robert might change his mind about her decision to keep the baby, before Victoria runs into a confrontational Robert who’s unable to say he’ll support Victoria’s decision, but is distressed to see her so hurt.
At the Woolpack, a worried Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is determined to find out what’s wrong with Victoria and is shocked when Victoria blurts out she was raped. As she continues to struggle to find the words as she tries to explain what happened with Lee, best mate Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Ellis Chapman (Asan N’Jie) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) struggle to take in the news.
Speaking to the media, Isabel said Victoria’s shock pregnancy is ‘bittersweet’, after a previous storyline saw the character and her husband Adam try for a baby but find out that Adam is unable to have kids at an infertility clinic appointment.
“In her ideal world, she would be pregnant with Adam’s child and they would have had a perfect little family unit, but the news comes in the worst kind of way,” says Isabel.
“Everything Victoria does is so Adam will come back. If Adam returned to save the day, that would be cracking!”
“But I think it will change the way she is with men,” she adds. “I think her trust is scuppered, and I would be interested to see what kind of mother she becomes after something like this has happened to her.”
We’re yet to discover if Victoria Barton’s attacker Lee will be brought to justice by the police but brother Robert is ready to dish out some justice of his own if recent spoiler pictures are anything to go by. Does that indicate that Lee will walk free? Or will Robert’s interference give him a loophole to escape the charges?
