Emmerdale’s Victoria under Pressure!
Emmerdale is set to pile on the pressure for Victoria Barton as the mother of Lee Posner, the man who raped her, arrives in the Dales.
Just when you thought Victoria Barton, played by Isabel Hodgins, had been through enough, her attacker Lee Posner’s mother turns up in Emmerdale to defend her precious ‘innocent’ boy!
Lee’s mum Wendy will be played by Susan Cookson, best-known for playing Dr Maggie Coldwell on Casualty. Susan has also appeared in Coronation Street, Waterloo Road and even made three previous appearances in Emmerdale – an unnamed garage attendant in February 1993, DC Fallon in August 1997, and DI Judy Dove between December 2002 and January 2003.
Susan said: “I am thrilled and delighted to be joining the community, both on and off screen, that is Emmerdale. I am also excited about tackling all the gritty and emotional storylines that are ahead for my character Wendy. I’m thrilled to be playing such a fantastic character.”
It is not yet clear if Wendy knows about Victoria’s pregnancy or how she or Lee will react when they find out. What is clear is that Lee (Kris Mochrie) and Wendy won’t be going quietly anytime soon so Victoria can try and get over the violent rape she suffered at Lee’s hands.
Executive Producer Jane Hudson added: “Susan is a fabulous addition to the cast and we are delighted to have welcomed her onto the Emmerdale team. She is a brilliant actor and we can’t wait for the drama Wendy brings to play out.”
With Lee and his mother Wendy causing more trouble for Victoria, you can bank on her brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) going into full-on protective mode of his little sister. Robert and husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) gave Lee the full ‘Robron’ treatment when they confronted him and then plastered his place of work with posters outing Lee as a rapist.
