Moira Dingle has reached breaking point after abandoning her baby at the hospital, and with Social Services about to come knocking, its up to her estranged husband Cain Dingle to come to her rescue. Could a Coira reunion be on the cards?

Tues 24th Oct 2017: Faith Dingle offloads her worries about Moira onto Cain and later he shocks Moira by turning up at the house. Could Cain be the one to help Moira through this difficult patch?

Last night, we saw Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) panic when her newly named baby Isaac wouldn’t stop crying and she refused to listen when she was told it was colic.

Convinced there was more to it, and clearly still reeling from finding daughter Holly dead from a drug overdose just a year ago, Moira rushed to hospital with her son. So overwhelmed by what has happened, Moira left the baby there, deciding he’d be better off without her.

When Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) discovered what Moira had done, they headed back to the hospital together and Faith thought she had managed to talk her way out of trouble, but on returning home, Moira had a call to say social services would be visiting.

Scared she might lose her baby, will Moira let Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) help her through this difficult time?

Actress Natalie J Robb tells Soaplife about the drastic action Moira takes in Emmerdale when she can’t cope with baby Isaac…

After such a traumatic birth, it’s little wonder that new mum Moira Dingle cracks under the pressure and leaves her newborn son, Isaac, at the hospital!
“The enormity of the situation is too much for her to cope with!”

Moira is clearly stressed, but why does she leave Isaac at the hospital?
“She’s terrified something bad will happen and she can’t cope with any more sadness in her life. She has the baby blues, too, which doesn’t help.”

How does she feel when social services decide to step in?
“I think she’s distraught, but the baby is driving her insane, so maybe it would be a good thing if social services were to get involved. Their intervention might also encourage Moira to get the help she obviously really needs, but is pretending she doesn’t.”

What did you think when you heard about the surprise baby?
“It’s something very new. When I found out about the storyline, I was taken aback – I wasn’t expecting it and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a fresh challenge for Moira.”

What was it like filming the birth?
“We had a midwife and a medical team on board. But you’re always nervous about doing storylines like that when you have never actually experienced it.”

Have you enjoyed all the drama?
“Yes, but it’s been exhausting. I make sure that I walk the dog when I get home. That’s my way of chilling out before I learn the lines for the next day. “

What’s it like working with a newborn?
“I’ve really enjoyed it. We have to have two babies, because of the long filming hours. They’re both so well behaved and they’ve been very good little actors so far!”
