Ex-Emmerdale Cast in New Musical Play
Former Emmerdale stars Hayley Tamaddon, James Sutton, and Jonathan Wrather are taking to the stage in a host of new plays and musicals in 2019 including National tours and West End runs.
Emmerdale is the home to some amazing talent so when these actors leave the village its great to see them going on to other fantastic roles and three ex-cast members are currently doing just that as former Emmerdale stars Hayley Tamaddon, James Sutton, and Jonathan Wrather all start new project.
Actress Hayley Tamaddon joins the cast of the award-winning musical Everybody’s talking about Jamie. Hayley, who played Delilah Dingle from 2005 till 2007, plays Miss Hedge
The musical is the story of 16-year old Jamie New who lives on a council estate in Sheffield, doesn’t quite fit in and is terrified about the future. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight as he becomes a sensation.
Hayley, who has also starred in Chicago, Spamalot and The Rocky Horror Show, will be joining the cast at London’s Apollo Theatre alongside Eastenders star Shane Richie.
Actor James Sutton, who played mechanic Ryan Lamb from 2009 to 2011, is in a brand new production called Caroline’s Kitchen with the Original Theatre Company which, direct from its hit London run, is set for a Spring tour of the UK before transferring to New York.
Caroline’s Kitchen is a searing, sharp, state of the nation comedy about Caroline Mortimer, the nation’s favourite TV cook. In the glow of the studio lights, she has it all – a sparkling career, a big house, a (golf) loving husband, smart kids and the best kitchen money can buy. But when the camera turns off the truth comes out and when an unexpected guest disrupts a night of celebration there is more to spill than the wine…
James, who returned to Hollyoaks following his Dales departure for a while, stars as builder Graeme alongside Caroline Langrishe (Lovejoy, Judge John Deed), Aden Gillett (The House of Eliott), Jasmyn Banks (EastEnders), Elizabeth Boag (Invincible), and Tom England (Death Trap).
Jonathan Wrather, best known to Emmerdale fans as evil Pierce Harris during 2016/17, is keeping hold of his nasty side while he treads the boards in an exciting and bold new production of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Kicking off a spring tour in March, Jonathan plays Lord Henry Wotton who seduces Dorian Gray with his charming conversation, famous wit, and brilliant intellect. Lord Henry’s theories are radical; they aim to shock and purposefully attempt to topple established, untested, or conventional notions of truth.
The Picture of Dorian Gray tells the story of a cultured, wealthy, and beautiful young man’s downfall through moral corruption and seduction. Dorian, who, fearing that his good looks would fade as he grows old, wishes that a portrait painted of him could bear the burden of the ageing process, leaving him forever young. But at what cost…?
Featuring Wilde’s famous wit and a stellar cast, The Picture of Dorian Gray is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the final scenes of the play – providing a really entertaining night out for all.
