Former X-Factor star Jack Quickenden has revealed he would love a role in Emmerdale. Jake, who also appeared in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! said in a recent interview that he’s been taking acting lessons in preparation for his role as Prince Charming in the pantomime production of Peter Pan – A Musical Adventure.
The acting lessons seems to have given him bug as the singer wouldn’t mind making the switch to the small screen in an acting role – preferably involving a stint in Emmerdale.
“I’m excited to turn my hand to a bit of acting,” Jake told New! Magazine.
“It’s a new thing. I’ve been taking acting lessons in Manchester because I wanted to try my hand at a bit of acting anyway. I usually only dance when I’m drunk and I probably can’t be drunk for any of the shows, so that will be different.
“I’m not Leonardo DiCaprio but I’m sure I can work towards that and give it a good go. I’d love to [do soap acting]. Soap acting would be brilliant. I’m definitely up for a bit of brunching out and doing a stint on Emmerdale.”
Jake already has a ‘foot in the door’ as he plays football with Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle) and Anthony Quinlan (Pete Barton) for Danny’s charity Once Upon a Time.
And we think Jake would be a great addition to the show – let’s face it, its worked for Duncan James from Blue on Hollyoaks, Lee Ryan on Eastenders, and Shayne Ward on Coronation Street.
Jake appeared in the was a contestant on the ninth and eleventh series of The X Factor in 2012 and 2014.
Plus, imagine if Jake got a part as Chas Dingle’s new man. Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, deserves some fun and a toy boy could be just the ticket. Would be great to see how Aaron and Danny would react.
