In the first episode viewers will see the brothers and their dad touch down in Mumbai, and soon realise that this uniquely vibrant and chaotic city is going to be a huge challenge to navigate. Their first time in India will see the quartet, leave their familiar surroundings in the North of England and explore some of India’s most popular tourist hot spots whilst attempting to discover more about their beloved Grandad Nolan Thomas.

Mumbai is one of the most populated cities in the world, India’s financial powerhouse, home to Bollywood and the country’s hugely successful entertainment industry and was also home to Dougie’s late father, Nolan Thomas in the early years of his life, before he emigrated to the UK in 1947.

Now the boys are in town, ready to find out about their Indian roots and explore the city that their Grandad called home.

Initially overwhelmed by their surroundings, Ryan jokes to brother Adam, former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here alumni, “It’s like being in the jungle Adam. It’s a far cry from Manchester.”

The family begin by getting their bearings at one of the city’s famous markets, trying the culinary delights this country has to offer. As the boys attempt to try the foods, their brotherly banter takes over and they affectionately encourage each other to try some of the market’s spiciest concoctions. Away from his brothers Adam secretly admits, “I tried to put on a brave face in front of the boys but it blows your head off.”

Meanwhile, dad Dougie delves into the family’s history and his research leads him to former head-mistress, Blossom Lillywhite, who worked at his father’s school for 32 years.   Arranging a meeting with her, the brothers and Dougie make a shocking discovery, as Blossom reveals that there are living relatives of the Thomas’ still based in Mumbai. Will the boys finally unlock the mystery that surrounded their grandad’s early years?

A tour of the school gives Dougie a glimpse of what life was like for his father growing up and the discovery also causes Ryan to reflect on his own childhood and talks openly about taking on a fatherly role to younger brothers Adam and Scott when Dougie briefly left the family home.

Throughout the series the family set out to uncover more secrets from their heritage as well as delving into their own relationship with their father. In a country where anything can happen, where will their journey take them next?
