Charley Webb, who plays Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle, took to her Instagram account to share the news of her new baby with husband Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe on the ITV soap.

Sharing an adorable black and white picture of their new arrival, the baby was dressed in a customised babygrow with ‘Baby Wolf’ stitched on.

The caption with the picture read: “BaByWoLf #3 has joined the crazy gang. We’re in a bubble of newborn’ness heaven.”

Charley and Matthew, who already have two sons, Buster aged nine and Bowie aged three, are yet to announce the gender and name of their latest family member.

The pair confirmed the pregnancy in March this year, when Charley and Matthew told OK! Magazine they were not planning on finding out the baby’s gender – though the mum-to-be revealed she always expected to have three boys and a girl.

The real life soap couple met when Matthew joined Emmerdale four years after Charley in 2006.

He proposed on Christmas Day in 2009, and finally after a nine year engagement, the couple invited friends and family to her ’30th birthday party’ in February 2018, only to surprise them with a wedding.

Charley recently opened up about the difficulties she faced keeping her baby news secret from her Emmerdale co-stars.

Speaking to OK! magazine she said: “I told all of the girls who were my bridesmaids (Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle), Roxy Shahidi (Leyla Harding), Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas) and Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle)) before seven weeks. When it’s your third, you do. They knew we were trying and I was sick!”

Charley said last month that she’d been hoping for a home birth but had to reconsider after being diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfuntion (SPD), which causes debilitating pain in his pelvis and back.

“Matthew’s up for a home birth but I’d like to be in a hospital for the sake of my own anxiety, in case anything went wrong,” she said.

On-screen, Charley’s character Debbie Dingle is debating moving to Scotland for a new life to cover the actress’ maternity leave.
