Emmerdale has revealed that the character of Ellis Chapman has been recast and will now be played by Aaron Anthony after the former actor Asan N’Jie was sacked after an awards party incident.
Last month, viewers saw Ellis Chapman abruptly head over to Dubai to work at his mum Jessie Dingle’s school as a PE assistant. This came after Asan N’Jie was fired for an argument with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas at the TV Quick Awards.
Emmerdale has since recast the role with Aaron Anthony taking on the part, having previously appeared in Delicious, Doctors, The Other One, and Behind Her Eyes.
This December, viewers will see Ellis Chapman return unannounced to the village; just as tensions between his father Al (Michael Wildman) and brother Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) threaten to boil over.
New actor Aaron Anthony said: “Emmerdale is a cracking show with a brilliant cast that I’m over the moon to now be a part of. I know Ellis is a well loved character and I’m looking forward to continuing his journey and all that’s in store for him.”
Emmerdale is on weeknights at 7pm with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm on ITV. Catch up on The Hub www.itv.com/hub
